Submitting a video for Master Class audition
What You Need
A video recording device: it can be any smartphone, tablet or computer. Use the device that allows you to make the best sounding/looking recording you can.
Filming Tips
Choose a quiet, well-lit place to record your audition. Mute all ambient noise; free the space from distractions.
If you’re recording into the built-in microphone on your device, make sure you’re not too far from the device.
If making the audition video seems like it's going to be a technical challenge for you/your family, you might wish to seek help from your private teacher. Many private music instructors have lots of experience making performance recordings, and they might be able to help you do this fairly easily.
Elements of the Video:
At the start of the video, please clearly state the following pieces of information: your name, your age, where you live (home town), where you go to school, the name of your private teacher (if you have one). Then perform your 2 repertoire selections through. No edits, please!
Submitting the recording
You can send your audition in 3 separate clips, or submit 1 long clip with the different audition elements included in 1 recording.
If the file(s) is not too big, you will probably be able to send it as an email attachment to musicfrompoplarhill@gmail.com, with “Master Class” in the subject line. If the clip(s) are too big for an email, other options include a free file transfer program such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Wetransfer, Box, etc.; e-mail the link to the Artistic Director at musicfrompoplarhill@gmail.com, with “Master Class” in the subject line.
